The Yusupov palace and park complex, located on the Crimean peninsula, took the place of the Koreiz dacha with the beautiful name "Pink House", which belonged to Princess Golitsyna.

Short description

Being a real owner of a luxurious estate since 1824, Anna Sergeevna did everything to ensure that the estate was transformed for the better every year. She entrusted the development of construction projects to the architect Elson, and Ashliman supervised all construction work at her behest.... In addition to the estate, a huge park was laid out - another "brainchild" of a gardener known at that time by the name of Kebakh.

Subsequently, the "Pink House" was bought by the noble and wealthy Yusupov family, known throughout Russia. All men in the Yusupov family held the highest and most responsible positions in the service. So, the eldest Yusupov named Felix, who bore the surname Sumarokov-Elston (the owner of the palace) before marriage, served as head of the Moscow military district and wore general's shoulder straps. In aristocratic society, he was called both the count and the prince.

General view of the Yusupov Palace

So, in 1909, Yusupov decided to change the appearance of the acquired dwelling, and the Golitsyn dacha, according to the project of the architect Krasnov, turned into a palace, which was later inherited by the youngest son of Yusupov.

In Russian history, Felix Yusupov Jr. became famous for his participation in the murder of Grigory Rasputin. In 1912, the palace became the venue for the engagement of the youngest representative of the Yusupov family to Princess Irina Alexandrovna, who was the niece of Tsar Nicholas II.

After the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945), the palace became the residence of the Soviet delegation headed by Stalin. It is noteworthy that during these 4 years the palace was not damaged in any way. Here in 1945, an important for the history of the country, the Yalta Conference was held, in which the rulers of the allied countries who were interested in fighting the Nazi-German invaders took part. Subsequently, the building of the Yusupov Palace was used as a dacha of the Central Committee of the CPSU and became attractive, but inaccessible, since it turned into a protected protected area.

The architecture of the Yusupov Palace, its interior design

The "Pink House", which became the property of Yusupov and was rebuilt according to Krasnov's project, became a real palace conveying the features of the neo-Romanesque style and containing elements of the Italian Renaissance.

All stairs, entrances to the palace and arches were decorated or figures of ancient mythology Greece, or sculptures of Venetian lions. Their production was entrusted to the best craftsmen Germany and Of Italy.

Yusupov's office

The palace building itself was buried in the green of relict trees and was surrounded by numerous, but small pools. The palace park, which occupied almost 16 hectares of land, has collected on its territory about seven thousand varieties of the most beautiful ornamental plantings. In the summer heat, they create coolness, however, like countless fountains, water into which comes from mountain streams. The territory of Yusupov Park is also rich in sculptures of lions - a fashionable decoration of buildings and gardens that appeared at the beginning of the 19th century.

Stalin's bedroom

The internal layout of the Yusupov Palace today is represented by several rooms:

  • reception room;
  • dining room;
  • Stalin's bedroom;
  • Molotov's bedroom and dressing room;
  • Yusupov's chambers;
  • billiard room-cinema.

I.V.'s office Stalin

The interiors of the rooms of the Yusupov Palace are made in the old modern style... The snow-white enamel panels are equipped with shelves for porcelain and bronze decorations. Each room has luxurious sofas and comfortable Viennese chairs in the corners. But the study, intended for the owner of the palace, was decorated differently. Decorated with antique French tapestry, this room was furnished with a bulky wardrobe, a massive work desk and smoking chairs.

Molotov's bedroom

The apartment called "Stalin" has a writing desk covered with green cloth, and a telephone set, which was used by Joseph Vissarionovich at one time..

Modern life of the Yusupov Palace

Today, the Yusupov Palace in Crimea has been transformed into a fashionable hotel that welcomes VIPs for rest. All the splendor of the Crimean lands surrounding the palace and park ensemble opens up from the windows and attics of the comfortable rooms. Getting into it, as you know, is not easy, but you can admire the old building from the side. It is located in the village of Koreiz, ten kilometers from the Crimean Yalta, at Parkovy Spusk, 26.

Dining room

As for the transformation of this Crimean landmark into a museum, so far this initiative has not found support from the modern government. But the fact that the Yusupov Palace is an important cultural and historical site is undeniable, otherwise it simply did not exist.
