Short description
Today this phrase has become a catchword. A rare country has so many bays and coves favorable for beach holidays, yachting and surfing. In Greece, you can swim in the waters of the three seas - the Mediterranean, the Ionian and the Aegean, or take a cruise around the islands (there are more than 2000 of them here), covered with legends. Crete is considered the birthplace of Zeus and the cradle of the Minoan civilization - one of the oldest in Europe.

Tourists usually visit the cave of Zeus and the Palace of Knossos, through the labyrinths of which the terrible Minotaur, the bull-man, once wandered. On the Peloponnese peninsula, Greek history and pages from Kuhn's famous book "Legends and Myths of Ancient Greece" seem to come to life before our eyes. So, Olympia is familiar to everyone as the ancestral home of the Olympic Games; the stadium, where the first athletes performed, has survived to this day.
Ancient Sparta became famous for its harsh laws and the courage of its warriors. The city of Corinth gave the world the Corinthian columns, and the theater in Epidaurus still impresses with its acoustics - whispers from the stage can be heard even in the upper rows. In the Peloponnese, there are the ruins of Mycenae, an ancient city that was the center of the Hellenic world during the reign of the Mycenaean king Agamemnon.

Greece - a kaleidoscope of impressions
Greece is one of the centers of Orthodoxy, so many tour operators include excursions to holy places in the programsuch as Mount Athos, the rocky monasteries of Meteora and the island of Patmos, where the evangelist John the Theologian served his exile. Among connoisseurs of antiquities, Athens and the "northern capital" of Greece, Thessaloniki, are popular. It was in Athens that the foundations of democracy were born, the names of the philosophers Plato and Socrates are associated with this city. The city of Thessaloniki, named after the half-sister of Alexander the Great, is the birthplace of the enlighteners Cyril and Methodius, the creators of the Slavic alphabet (Glagolitic alphabet). Until now, it serves many peoples: Bulgarians, Serbs, Slovaks, Ukrainians, Belarusians and Russians. Athens and Thessaloniki are rich in monuments of the Greco-Roman era, Byzantine and early Christian temples. However, people come to Greece not only for the architecture and the sea, but also for fur coats. In the north of the country, there is the city of Kastoria, where the furrier's craft originated in the Middle Ages. Fur products made in Greece are appreciated all over the world.

But the “Greek impressions” do not end there either. Winter Greece invites you to relax at the ski resorts. The slopes are equipped even on the famous Mount Parnassus, where the muses lived in ancient times. Rushing down the ski slopes and admiring the South Sea is amazing!
